Privacy Policy

HelixFeed is a small, independent tool built for machinists. We collect only the data we need to run the service, and we don't sell or share your information with anyone. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Who We Are

HelixFeed is operated by a sole developer. The service consists of a web application hosted at helixfeed.com and a Fusion 360 add-in that communicates with it.

What We Collect

When you request early access

• Your name and email address
• Machine and material information you choose to provide

We use this to set up your account, send you an API key, and communicate about HelixFeed updates. We'll never spam you or share your email.

When you use the add-in or API

• API request data: tool parameters, material selections, and operation settings you send for calculation
• Usage metadata: timestamps, API key identifier, and request counts

This data is used to perform calculations, monitor service health, and improve the calculation engine. We do not store the specific toolpath or part geometry from your Fusion 360 projects.

When you visit the website

• IP address, browser type, and referring page
• Pages visited and time of visit

We use this for basic traffic analytics in our internal admin dashboard. We do not use third-party analytics services like Google Analytics.

When you submit feedback or bug reports

• The content of your report and any automatically attached context (material, tool type, calculation results)

Bug reports are forwarded to a private Discord channel for triage. Your identity is not included in the public-facing report.

How We Store Your Data

Data is stored on servers hosted by Render (our hosting provider) located in the United States. Access request information is stored in a server-side database. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

Who Can See Your Data

Only the HelixFeed developer/operator. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We may share data only if required by law.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie for admin authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookie services. No cookie consent banner is needed because we don't track you.

Your Rights

You can request at any time:

• Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — updates to inaccurate information
• Deletion — removal of your data from our systems
• Export — your data in a portable format

Email mike@helixfeed.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

Children

HelixFeed is a professional tool for machinists. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. For significant changes, we'll notify active users by email.
