Terms of Service
Effective date: March 28, 2026
These terms govern your use of the HelixFeed website, API, and Fusion 360 add-in. By using HelixFeed, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
The Service
HelixFeed provides CNC feeds and speeds calculations through a web API and a Fusion 360 add-in. The service is currently in beta and is provided free of charge during the testing period. Features, availability, and pricing may change at any time.
Machining Disclaimer — Read This Carefully
HelixFeed provides recommendations, not guarantees. Every CNC setup is different — your machine rigidity, workholding, tool condition, coolant, and dozens of other factors affect what parameters are safe and effective.
You are responsible for verifying that any feeds and speeds are appropriate for your specific setup before running them. Always start conservative, listen to the cut, and adjust based on real-world conditions. HelixFeed is a starting point, not a substitute for machinist judgment.
HelixFeed and its developer are not liable for any damage to tools, workpieces, machines, or persons resulting from the use of calculations provided by the service. Use at your own risk.
Your Account
- You need an API key to use the add-in. Keys are issued at our discretion during the beta period.
- Keep your API key private. Don't share it or use it in ways that could compromise the service.
- We may revoke keys at any time, for any reason — though we'll try to give you a heads up.
Acceptable Use
Don't:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the calculation engine or material data
- Use automated tools to make excessive API requests (rate limits are enforced)
- Share your API key publicly or with unauthorized users
- Use the service to build a competing product
- Attempt to access other users' data or admin functionality
Intellectual Property
HelixFeed's calculation engine, material database, user interface, and source code are proprietary. Your use of the service doesn't grant you any rights to these beyond using the service as intended.
Your data (tool libraries, machine settings, calculation inputs) remains yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you send through the API.
Availability and Support
HelixFeed is a beta product run by one person. That means:
- Uptime is not guaranteed. The server may go down for maintenance, updates, or unexpected issues.
- Support is best-effort via Discord and email. No SLAs.
- Features may change, be removed, or break between versions. We'll try to communicate changes through the changelog and Discord.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- HelixFeed is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability.
- The developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to tool breakage, workpiece damage, machine damage, personal injury, lost production time, or lost revenue.
- Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service (which, during the beta period, is zero).
Feedback and Bug Reports
When you submit feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions through the add-in or other channels, you grant HelixFeed the right to use that feedback to improve the product without any obligation to you. We won't publicly attribute feedback to you without permission.
Termination
You can stop using HelixFeed at any time by uninstalling the add-in and deleting your API key. We can terminate your access at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason. On termination, we'll delete your personal data upon request per our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated to active users. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the HelixFeed developer resides. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
